Green electricity

Our tenants do not need to worry about supporting green electricity production, because since 2011, Hoas has been using certified electricity produced by environmentally friendly hydroelectric power plants.

Green certificates are a market-driven way to promote the use of renewable energy sources in electricity production. In the green certificate system, electricity is separated from the environmental or other added value of its production, and these two are then sold in separate markets.

The production's environmental value or other added value derived from the use of renewable energy sources is traded as green certificates. The purpose of the green certificate system is to increase the use of renewable energy sources in places where it is most cost effective, and thus reduce the cost of electricity transmission. Green certificates act as proof that a certain amount of electricity has been produced using renewable energy sources.
