Studio apartments

All degree students may apply for studio apartments. The demand for studio apartments is very high and the waiting time for studio apartments might be several months or even a year.

Studio apartments are always rented to one person. A studio consists of a room, kitchen/cooking space and a bathroom. Studios are rented unfurnished, but usually wardrobes are provided. There are refrigerator, freezer and stove in kitchen.

Studio with shared kitchen

Studio with shared kitchen is a one-person apartment with its own bathroom. The kitchen is shared with 12–16 other tenants living in the same floor/stairway. The idea behind shared kitchen is to bring all the tenants of the floor together and enhance the sense of community between neighbours. It is not possible to add a spouse to live in a studio with shared kitchen.

with shared kitchens are rented unfurnished but refrigerator and wardrobes are provided. The shared kitchen has a table,  stools and basic kitchen equipment. There is also a microwave in studios with a common kitchen located on Haukilahdenkuja. In some apartments there is also a hotplate, shelves, a table or wall-mounted cabinets.

Studio with mini kitchen

Studio with a mini kitchen is a one-person apartment with an own room, a mini kitchen and a bathroom. The equipment found in the mini kitchen is the same as in a kitchen, except for an oven, which is not included in the mini kitchen.

In the Maakaari and Haukilahdenkuja studios, the mini kitchen also has the possibility of using a common kitchen. The idea of the common kitchen is to bring the residents of a stairway together and advance the sense of communality of neighbours.

In order to apply for a studio with a mini kitchen, choose studio in your apartment application and then choose studio with mini-kitchen.

Furnished studio with shared kitchen

A furnished studio with shared kitchen is a one-person apartment with its own bathroom. The kitchen is shared with 12–16 other tenants living in the same corridor. The idea behind shared kitchen is to bring people together and enhance the sense of community between the neighbours. It is easy to get to know your neighbours and make new friends in the shared kitchen. It is not possible to add a spouse to live in a furnished studio with shared kitchen.

Furnished studio is very suitable for students who are moving to Helsinki from farther away. Furnished studios with shared kitchens have basic furniture, refrigerator and wardrobe. The shared kitchen has a table and stools.

In order to apply for a furnished studio with shared kitchen, choose studio in your apartment application and then choose furnished studio with shared kitchen.
