How do I pay the deposit?

Deposit information

The deposit is 260 euros for shared and roomie apartments, 500 euros for other apartment types.

The deposit is a guarantee for Hoas in the event that the tenant does not pay the rent or other fees, or they damage the apartment. The deposit cannot be used to pay for the last month's rent, and you cannot use it while the tenancy agreement is in effect.

How to pay the deposit

The deposit must be paid to Hoas' account and a proof of payment must be delivered to Hoas along with other required documents for confirmation of the tenancy agreement.

The payment details are provided to you on your apartment offer. The deposit payment can be made in an online banking system or at a bank branch. You will find the final date for the delivery of all necessary documents on your apartment offer.

Please remember to use the specified reference number when you pay the deposit!

Deposit paid by Kela

The administration of the basic social assistance scheme was transferred from the municipalities to Kela on 1 January 2017. If you want to apply for the deposit to be paid by Kela, please contact Hoas and Kela to check the current procedure.

International bank transfer fees

Please note that it is your responsibility to take care of any charges for international transactions, so you should add them to the amount to be paid. Any added costs will reduce the amount received by Hoas. Your own bank can advise you about the bank fees.

Returning the deposit

Information about returning the deposit after the end of your tenancy agreement can be found in the section Returning the deposit.
